Stars - Going Going Gone (Live)
Off the new EP Sad Robot. I’ve been listening nonstop like a teenage girl because all the songs are all lovely and full of love and woe and I’m sure critics will say some mean shit about the more experimental electronic sound, but it sounds nostalgic and pretty and kinda 80’s to me and Amy Millan’s voice owns you.
This song (and this week) makes me want to wax all emotional about things changing and the passage of time and role models of womanness, like my 96 year old great aunt (a heroine of vivacity and martini science) in declining health, Tracie “Slut Machine” Egan getting married (like whoa!), and myself last night, who had multiple burners going on the same stove.
But I won’t. Instead I will go see the Stars at the Fillmore on October 6th. Say hi if you’ll be there!
