Why SFist pisses me off. Alternatively titled, why it's really fun to date me!
- Yo: why is sfist pissing you off?
- Yo: because while their bent is ostensibly liberal they manage to be about as ignorant, racist, stereotypical and conservative as they can possibly be within that label
- they do nothing but gripe and perpetuate damaging stereotypes about Muni
- outright insulting drivers collectively as a group
- argh
- it helps nobody to continue to insult the entire body of operators (most of whom are skilled and professional) for a few overly-publicized transgressions by the minority
- "Muni drivers are ALWAYS on their cell phones"
- not true
- "Unlike Muni drivers, who time their runs according to their own personal whims, The PresidiGo departs every half hour on the dot; and even though it has to contend with the same traffic as Muni, it's really reliable."
- that's just insulting
- also, they know little about the city outside of the yuppie core

- in no way is Maynard & Congdon "Bernal Heights" and if any of them had ever set foot outside the north half of town they might know that

- first they perpetuate a really gross, ignorant stereotype about the Tenderloin "In a space where people are sure to kick in your window and sexually assault you twice a day."

- Yo: and then they COMPLAIN that they can't find a suitable apartment in the TL!
- Yo: kicking in the windows twice a day is unlikely.
- why are these assholes looking for a place in the tenderloin if they're clearly inimical to its native population??
- just to slum it?
- garner some cred?
- score a cheap rent deal because they're privileged and white and landlords should rent to them?
- in a neighborhood they clearly consider "vile"
- I'm just really sick of this kind of urban imperialism
- like, we will pass judgment on your social ills because we are moneyed and educated and coming to use your city as our personal playground
- without regard to the underlying causes of the "problems" we identify and bitch about
