Archi-trunk!
This is a box full of things to teach elementary school kids about historic buildings, architectural forms (like the dentil & egg-and-dart moldings seen here), and American cultural references of the 19th century. It’s pretty much my favorite thing since the Prelinger Library. It’s from SF Architectural Heritage, the Big Serious preservation nonprofit in the city, and they lend it out to teachers for what I would have considered a rad day of learning as a 4th grader. My housemate is a 3rd grade teacher taking her class to the Haas-Lilienthal house museum tomorrow; the trip may or may not feature a certain local blogger with an unhealthy preservation fixation dropping some knowledge on some eight year olds.
